Goals for the Year
My biggest goal for this year is to learn the major and minor scales since I currently only have one memorized. I think it's really difficult to memorize patterns and scales so I'm going to try really hard this year to get it. I also want to work on hitting higher notes easier and cleaner. I'll also work on going from high to low and low to high (notes) because I struggle sometimes with that in our concert music.
My strengths incude being able to keep my tempo steady throughout music, hitting some higher notes, and knowing limitations, like not playing notes that I know wouldn't sound good at the time.

Minor/Major Relative Transposition
I struggle the most with Major and Minor scales out of everything else in band. We haven't focused on them until this year (because I'm a freshman) and I don't do well with memorizing things. I think If I work hard at them I'll be able to get the transposition parts and be able to play the scales without looking at them.
My Smart Music score for "Etude" in one take was 75, not too good but I'm hoping that later in the band year that that score can be raised. (September 14, 2016)
How to Transpose For My Instrument
If you want to transpose notes on the piano into notes on the trumpet you must move up the scale by two half-steps. You start at your concert note and then move up the scale two half-steps to get to your tonic
